1800 IPM at 1000 steps per inch is 1.8 million steps per minute.

which is only 30K steps per second. MAch3 o0r TurboCNC can easily
put out the steps needed.

Now if the motor is quarter stepped, that's 37.5 revs per second. So
2250 RPM. At 1/8 stepping it's only 1125 RPM.

We don't know table size, but 2250 or 1125 RPM is certainly do-able
without exotic parts. Especially with short screws. But it will
require accurate construction; which is something Ron has said is
needed.

With rack/pinion it's even less exotic...
