OK, shoot me afterwards. I won't complain much.
What's this with "reforming cpacitors" and such? You have a bad cap,
throw it in the trash where it belongs. Buy a new one.
What made it go bad in the first place? You think "reforming" it or
whatever will make it OK? It was either old or defective or dried-
out. Aluminum electrolytics use a water-based electrolyte. This
electrolyte dries out after 20+ years. You cannot replace it. Nothing
you do will restore a dried-out cap to good as new health. It will go
bad again and again when you put in service after "reforming".
Whatever you have attached to this limping cripple of a capacitor may
get damaged as a result of it dying again. And it will; remember, it
was dead when you "reformed" it.
Geez,.. spend the bucks, get a new cap and just move on. The biggest
one can't cost more than twenty bucks.
OK, I have my blindfold on and I'm smoking pre-execution cigarette.
My hands are tied behind my back and I'm ready for the firing squad.:-
