Well, thanks, I've been reading this thread an looking at the CF28 I'dacquired to run our little DIY router, thinking I'd made a poor choice.thnksChuck Merja<http://www.srvscience.org> www.srvscience.org US FIRST Robotics - http://www.usfirst.org/_____ From: CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO@yahoogroups.com[mailto:CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of shawn cSent: Friday, October 24, 2008 12:24 AMTo: cad_cam_edm_dro@yahoogroups.comSubject: RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Mach3 & laptopsI have metioned in the past many times that the panasonic cf-72's and 28'swork. There may be other models as well, but these are the two I know forsure work. I have 6 in use for day to day cnc task, no problems thus far. These are very rugged laptops suited for shop use and output a true 5volt atthe pport. I havent tried one with SS, but I would assume it would fine. Newthese sold for $2500-3500. Used/refurb are in the $300-1000 price range. Ipurchased one last month from ebay for $250. I have had issues with the run of the mill laptops, dell, hp, gateway, ect.Low quality compared to the panasonic product. ._,___ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
