That is news to me. I have been driving my Taig mill via Mach 3, run
on a laptop for about four years. Initially, I was using Mach 2 on
an old Dell Inspiron with 128mB RAM and Windoze 2000. Latterly I am
using an Advent laptop with Windows XP. No problems noticed once I
had the set up parameters correct. Perhaps I have just been lucky so far.
I do believe that some laptops are limited in the power they put out
at the ports, and hence can not drive the board, but so far the Dell
machines seem to be OK. Trouble is, the latest ones don't come with
parallel ports.
