I ran a couple old Dell Inspiron 3700s for a while. They both would
"hiccup" every minute or two causing a motor stall at anything over
about 12IPM (Taig mill with 20TPI screws, 269in-oz motors). Slower
than that you'd hear a little clunk in the machine now and then but it
kept running OK. May have lost a step or 2 now and then, but I never
really checked as I wasn't concerned with extreme accuracy.
