I am also looking for more details on Chuck McGhee's conversion. I have only seen the photos at his old website, which appears to be defunct. I will keep you posted if I fid anything.

I have an old Shoptask 1720XMTC that I'm converting to CNC I have the X & Y axis
mostly done.

At one time I saw a guy Ex. Boeing Machines (Chuck) maybe; he's on the Shoptask
site under projects, that had converted the Z axis to a ballscrew feed using 2 ballscrews to eliminate that horrible z axis setup feed. Would anyone have anymore information on how he did it.

I realize I'm reaching but I've searched all over try to find more information on how it was done.
