Hmm I been running at 3 axis 2 amp test L297/L298 at 36VDC with a reduced
current mode when at idle and it is just fine. You do need larger heatsinks
and the reduced current mode is the reason that it doesn't overheat when
idle. But you still need a fan with the larger heatsinks.
