The wiggler is set so it is straight out and not orbiting, while the
spindle
is turning at 1000 RPM or so. The edge of the part can be brought
against
the point of the wiggler, and when it flies out and whirls around, the
edge
is just below the spindle axis. I much prefer an edge finder for these
sorts of alignments.

The wiggler can also be used to locate the spindle right above a
prick punch mark.
