Yes, you could just use the small ATX motherboard. Put controller code
in flash ROM, no need for drives, kbd, monitor. Just a serial and
parallel port.

32Mb flash card? You have a PCMCIA slot on an ATX? I have on on the
little '386 (AMD Élan 300 processor) hand held board I've spoken of
(soon to get ATA Compact Flash support). Board doesn't know Linux,
probably never will!
