We had horrendious problem in the UK with Bobcad.
They offered 16.1 with a free upgrade to 17. Version 17 was delayed
and even when it was released in the US we couldn't get it for nearly
three months. They sent the Cd's out and they were dud. Sent another
lot out and they were also dud.
So to take the pressure off they sent the program out on four disks,
followed by a CD a month later.
This is the serial number version by the way not the dongled version.
I installed it on a P90 machine only to find that the P90's had a
floating point error. Installed it on the home computer and Bobcad
wouldn't issue me with a new number so soon after even though I
explained what happened.
Finally got a new number, the UK agent can't issue numbers he has to
contact FL and they don't answer email.
Came to re-install windows a while later due to problems and it then
needs a new number @["11%@@.
Any upgrade or reinstall will require a new number.
Also be carefull of the 30 day registration period. I installed mine
just before Christmas and contacted Blobcad UK for a number. I was
told I would be OK for 30 days and they would issue me a number in
the new year. Great a week to get to grips with it. No such luck, by
December 29th the time had run out and it wouldn't let me reinstall
it.
They must have shorter days in FL than we do here in the UK
I actually bought it to do raised text true type font. It did it OK
with the odd glitch but it's not an easy program to use if you want
to do a job a certain way. The biggest problem is it generates on the
fly and if you need to alter anything you either have to redraw it or
manually edit it. What I call professional programs have a post
processor where it's common to go in, click on a tool path and change
features you need changing. On most you can change milling direction
just by clicking on a check box.

If anybody want's to try Bobcad out contact me off list and I'll sell
the original 4 disk set. They are genuine.
