Just my 2 cents.

Learned 2d drafting in school using a pencil. 1990 (got the job
done)

Learned autocad because I had to for a job. 1995 (hated it)

Learned Vellum on a mac because thats what the company had.
1998 (great program by the way.)

Learned Solidworks because I wanted to. 2000

Still using solidworks. The ability to go back after the job was
finished and chang a dimension, have solid model update every
other dimesion related to it, and then automatically updates the
drawings makes me smile.
