I agree that Solid works seems to be the up and coming solid modeling
leader but Solid Edge at http://www.solid-edge.com are really trying
hard to compete. Where they are scoring is the offers they are making.
Solid Edge Origin is free from the web site above and has many of the
full programs features intact, including save and print. It's worth
it just for the screen show and tutorials on the CD.
They also do an educational version of V9 that other than a splash
screen on start up is non crippled. You will have to check for
availability in various countries. It's on the UK web site for 49 UKP
but I haven't seen it on the US site.
