Probably 80% of the time I spent on linux/rt/emc was trying to
get the video/monitor configured in Linux to run Xwindows.
Once over that major hurdle, rt and emc were not that tough.

I did waste alot of time trying to get rt/emc to run on a 486.
Don't even try! Get an old 75mhz or 90mhz pentium. Emc will
run with only 16mb of memory. Wasted more time until I discovered
you have to have at least 600x800 svga resolution to run Tim's
script.

After all the growing pains I have installed linux/rt/emc on
subsequent machines in less than two hours.
