If you're tracking Linux installs, here are my results:

AMD-K6-2-400, 128MB 4 gig IDE, Creative Blaster Banshee video:
RH 5.2 install 25 minutes, time to get Xfree going, several days (this was
due to
the new 16MB gamers dream video card).
Re-installed RH 6.0 15 minutes, Xfree 10 minutes (I know what I'm doing
now).

Sharp widenote laptop, P133, 32MB ram, scsi cdrom, 1gb ide hard drive
RH 5.2 1-2 hours (unattended, it wasn't done at an hour, it was at 2).
Xfree config, 10 minutes (standard video chipset)

Cyrix 200MMX, 64MB ram ET4000 video, 3GB hard drive
RH 5.2 ~ 1hour

My only problems came when I had the latest/greatest video card. The
new release of Xfree is supposed to have drivers for it. I have yet to
install EMC
or the RT patch, because my mini mill is not converted to steppers or servos
yet.
I understand that the latest RT patch works with RH 6.0, which is much
easier to
install by the way, but I haven't checked it out yet. I'm still not sure I
will convert the mill,
I'm more interested in homegrowing a DRO, although I'm also thinking of a
Shooting Star.
I'm also thinking of a bigger mill.
