GM4T,

Be sure to clamp the work down on the drill press. The second drill
will tend to pull the work upward. What the two drill method accepts
is that the counterbored hole for the head of the screw does not NEED
to be flat (Refer to Freds previous post).

If you grind the "counterboring" drill flat, Smoke and others advised
adding relief. Good advice, IMO.
