David,
From what I have found so far Dancam is well organised to drive a c
axis but only as one of 3 axis driven in total. My design is for the
z
axis to be relay switched to and air piston. Should work well.
Closed loop servo motors can be directed by stepper software if you
have the driver controler to do this. Repost if you want a name of
company that can provide such a thing and I'll dig out my paperwork.
Alan,
Yes I am looking for hardware as well, I have come to grips with most
elements, Ball screws seem to be very expensive c. $750 Au ea. so I
am
searching for surplus. There is a new gecko driver G201a that seems
really neat and is well priced at $195 US but I dont understand how
many motors and relays it will operate. I am looking at using NEMA34
steppers with say 450 ounce/inch torque.
As for the vertical accuracy I plan to have linear ball bushes on
each axis for .01 mm or so, to acheive my resultant aim of .1 mm
overall tolerance.
