I ran a test once. I had a G210 in one of my cases without the cover on.
I wireed the +36VDC and the ground up from the 18000 UF Cap without a
470 UF 63V cap on the power lines. I was using about 12" of 18 AWG
stranded wire. I ran the G210 for a while and noticed the internal cap
was getting warm. I shut it off and installed the 470 uf cap across the
G210 + and GND terminals. When I reran it the cap was now cool and so
was the 470 uf cap. So as you know heat kills electronics so I agree
that the 470 UF Low ESR caps should be used on the G201/G210.

Hi JAn,
I do agree that the 470uF are worth the little effort to install. At
about 4 for a dollar, they are also worth their weight in gold.
My understanding was that the line lenght between the 201 and the
power supply allowed the main filter caps to handle the kickback that
was not handled on board the Gecko's. but, if the length was more
than 18 inches, the 470's are required.
