It sounds like you have a stepper motor
and a matching driver
and a PC
but no software ?

Check the 'amp' (I'm assuming this is a electronical gizmo that is a
interface that contorls the motor, a thing called a driver)

it should have power connector from the power source, AC or DC with
enough amps to power the motor

it should have logic inputs for step and direction

it should have low voltage inputs for logic, or just 3 wires for step
and direction.

I guess, we need more info on what you are calling an 'amp' got a
model number or a description ?
