You could tell us how fast you are trying to run the motors. When you say
they are too slow, what feedrate are you trying to move the table at? At
what speed do they begin to lose steps? You will easily be able to tell
when they lose steps, it will not be subtle at top speed.

Given the specific dimensions of your system: feedrate, steps per revolution
of the motors, leadscrew pitch, and gear ratios if not direct drive, you can
calculate the number of step pulses per second that you are trying to feed
the motor.

Give us all of the information and we are happy to help you solve whatever
problems you encounter. If you give us less than all of the information you
will get proportionally (maybe exponentially) less of your problems solved.
