Capacitors are "wound" of layers of stuff, and the bigger the single cap is
as opposed to using multiple smaller ones, the poorer its performance is
going to be at higher frequencies. There's also more of a probability of
seeing ESR issues come into play as well. Look inside of any computer power
supply, particularly higher-rated ones -- they'll have multiple smaller caps
on the +5 output, rather than just one or two bigger ones.
