//// My servos are 13.7 amps continuous with a peak of 27 amps X 3. My power supply puts out 64 volts DC and I havent any idea about the amperage, its the big boat anchor/transformer that came out of my Bandit controller( I assume 15 to 20 amps). I use 10 amp time delay fuses right before the Gecko. I've never blown one. Its all relative to how it will be used I think. A while back we discussed this and someone mentioned that the fuse at the drive is not a 100% safeguard. As the amperage would be isolated between the servo and the drive during a stall ( I don't understand how). From what I've gathered on sizing a power supply: Add up all three continuous amperage ratings of the servos and 50% of that number in supply output amps is sufficient. It's very unlikely that all three servos would be drawing continuous amperage at the same time. In my case stall amperage is off the charts. ///
This is a very good question, and i am assuming your are talking
servos. The peak torque of a servo can be used like 5% of the time,
i am not sure a bank of capacitors will fill in a current slug this
long...
How about taking this question over to gecko groups and ask Mariss...
Wally
P.S. as for the fuse thing...Another very good question...I would
like to know as well...I may go over to the bussman fuse site later
and see if i can find anything...
