Thanks to you and the others for the help on this. I kinda had an idea it
was a safety device... But it still begs the question to me how it ever got
the name "charge pump". I am sure it made sense at the time.

BTW folks, still need to hear from someone who has a simple home brew
spindle speed PW to voltage circuit.

Guess I will just have to drag out some resitors, a capacitor or two and my
trusty voltmeter. My VFD supplies the 10 volts already all I need to do is
smooth out the PWM to a variable voltage somehow. Nuts on speed control
would be lost on me at this point in my "development". <Grin>
