But seriously Dave, if it makes you feel any better. On my
Bridgeport conversion, I am thinking of using moglice on the acme
screws, and mounting the nema 42 steppers I have sitting around with
direct couplings to the acme screws. This has the advantage of
simplicity in design and build (just like the old days!!!).
After the mill is up and running I will be able to more easily make
more complicated belt drive mechanisms, ballscrew mounts ectÂ… It is
kind of the chicken and the egg thing.
