I have provided full register-level details for my interfaces, so anyone
could, in theory, provide the
driver code. The existing drivers for use with EMC are public domain,
too, and could be used
as an example.

My servo amps are rated to 160 V and 20 A peak.

As for Linux, it is pretty much all I use. The only machine that runs
Windows natively is my kid's
computer, which crashes or locks up about every 15 minutes. The Linux
machine I'm emailing from
usually stays up 2-3 months at a time, and gets rebooted only by power
failures. For software that
requires Windows, I run Win2K-Pro under the VMware virtual environment
under Linux, where it is
far more stable than running on real hardware. I run Bobcad/CAM and
some electronic CAD
packages that way.
