For what it's worth..you don't HAVE to upgrade. I'm still using R14 and I
have customers who are on R12. I design custom equipment and provide
drawing to the customers without a problems. Most of the "features" in the
later versions aren't needed anyway and the majority of the companies I work
with haven't upgraded beyond '04. Those that have upgrade do so to prevent
what you're having to deal with.
