Intellicad lives, was Re: Cad software

The current incarnation of Intellicad is ProgeCAD LT:

It is still free and apparently without time limitation. I downloaded it
and installed on my work PC yesterday. It is uncannily like Autocad --
without realizing it, it hijacked the ".dwg" program association and I
opened a couple of ACAD drawings in it.

The limitations I've noticed so far in the LT version are no lisp or VBA
and no bitmap underlay. It does install a print-to-PDF utility though.
When a menu item is not supported in the LT but is in the payware version,
it lets you know. "Regular" stuff like ddatte do work.

Solidworks 2005 comes with a dwg editor that is seemingly identical to
ProgeCAD--it is also "powered by IntelliCAD technology" and obviously
intended to wean people who only need to occasionally maintain legacy ACAD
drawings (like me) from actually continuing to use Autodesk software...
