If you had to do the custom install, you can still look through the
"Official" RedHat manual and in the section in the back where all the
packages are listed the ones required for the workstation install are all
listed with a "W" to designate them.
Strange that the workstation install did not work for you as the only
difference between it and the custom is the partitioning and the preselected
packages. THe partitioning scheme is simple, a small amount for /boot, a
small swap file and the rest to /. I did find it is possible to do a custom
partition with the workstation install. I was installing on a large hard
drive and Linux was constantly failing when it did a fschk.
