Hi Dave,
Yes, 1/2 the current for a series connection. I Think you could say the
"rating" of the stepper would be 2X in that configuration. But we're
probably more concerned with the max voltage the driver can safely
handle. And that voltage should probably be less then 25X the motor's
voltage. We've now got 2X the inductance as well. Not optimum, but it
might be a solution for some cases.
