Another issue is that the bearing housings are usually much harder
than the ground stock, which is often supplied annealed.
Means you either want to harden and regrind, or accept that re-
adjustment can be required often. Better would be to use spring
loading of appropriate bearing pairs to effect pre-loading and
compensate wear.
