BDI 4.49 is quite different than EMC2. The version of EMC on the BDI
distro is EMC at the lower levels, with some parts of EMC2 at the
higer levels. BDI development branched from EMC quite some time ago.
The configuration method and flexibility is drastically different
between the two. EMC2 is quite flexible in it's handling of hardware.
