The point is though that the average user doesn't expect to have to install
Windows (or Linux, or a small country in Africa) onto their machine before
then installing an application - the PC comes with that stuff already done.
So comparing how much trouble you had installing the OS is missing the point.

I installed DeskCNC on a naff old 200 meg laptop the other week - Windows
98 - loaded no trouble, ran perfectly, no need to load the OS at all. THAT
is what most users want to see - they don't give a rat's for how easy it is
to install the OS.
