Because they have grown up or are used to working with Linux they
can't accept that many have never heard of it, understand it or have
any idea how it works.
I had this same argument on Friday with Lester Caine as he's very
savvy on Linux and uses it all the while, now we have a post from
Lester saying it won't load.
What chance does a mere mortal have ?
I also had this argument a few years ago and someone from the Linux
group, may have been Mike or Paul Corner sent me a brain dead install.
Just get a new machine, stick it in and it will install.
Fine, but halfway thru it stopped saying couldn't find this file.
Nothing else.
Now what do I do ? I have no idea of Linux commands, in fact I'm told
with the BDI I don't even need them.
A quick email later [ from a windows machine as the Linux one is dead ]
and I'm told, no problems, type in some obscure word, followed by
three obscure commands and look for the file that's missing.
So that was a brain dead install but it left me wondering who's brain
was dead.
That's the last time I looked at this and decided to buy a rubber
cloak and take up S&M.
Many call Bill Gates but there are also many millions of folk out
there using and earning a good living off computers who if it was left
to DOS and Linux wouldn't stand a chance.
My wife runs a computer based business I just asked her what Ubuntu
was, believe it or not she replied "Is it one of those new countries
in africa." ?
