He admits to using their code base ...
I have ports of open source projects, but when I find bugs I always
push the fix back to the original source - simple a matter of courtesy.

Lester as user would want continuouse rotation just like DivisonMaster.
You can't gear cut without?

And from what I am seeing there is a good spread of people working on
the EMC2 code base as well as supporting existing EMC users. Sherline
are also standardising on EMC but I am not sure if they have switched to
EMC2 yet?
