Hi Tony
Why would you be running? I doubt you would run when a different
Linux Kernel comes out or when Microsoft comes out with a differrent
version of Windows. It would certainly be wise to take time to make
sure the new systems stabilize but you shouldn't discount new
developments in software technology.
As for EMC it is very old no doubt about that and frankly its primary
purpose was not hobby CNC machines. EMC/BDI was and still is a method
of delivering some of the improvements that have been made to EMC2 well
befoe it arrived on the deck as a finished product. EMC2 is simply
the platform for new EMC development. It is where all the good stuff
is happening.
Now EMC2 has had its first release, that is a good thing. Like all
open source software we now have a base that can firm up and stabilize.
There is nothing to run away from, what you are enjoying is the best
that this model of software development has to offer.
