That company ALWAYS says there is nothing wrong, even when evidence
clearly shows there IS something wrong. This is not the first time US
Digital encoders have proved a problem in a noisy system. But, they
OUGHT to know servo drive systems are prone to noise.

One final thing you could try is to put roughly 50 uH inductors in
series with the motor power out leads, right at the UHU drive. Since
the other encoders don't have a problem, the US Digital SHOULDN'T need
this either, but you ARE having a problem.

I have never seen US Digital encoders in industrial-grade equipment. I
have some $1000 motors from Gidding&Lewis and API, and they have Renco
encoders in them. While not a true indication of quality, I do think
that ought to tell you something.
