Depends upon more that this simple formula. What if you need to farm
this part out and everyone is booked up solid for 8 weeks.
For a shop turning out fairly low volume, high value parts on tight lead
times, it could be worth it to have a manual machine around for such odd
jobs to insure that the customer gets a full delivery and on time.

If you have to farm something out, you lose control. You have to trust
that they will get it back on time, and they won't screw it up
themselves. For some, this risk is intolerable.
