Just for starters, here's a good point for learning "to do it the hard way
first": You will have a much greater understanding of what and why your
doing a project in a certain way. You will also learn why some things work
better one way rather than others. For instance...once you break a tool
with a 3/4 diameter shaft (that you paid for) due to turning a crank to
quickly the wrong way, you'll really realize the importance of checking and
double checking set ups and tool paths before running that expensive CNC
machine.
