Hi,

If you have a lathe and some skill with it, a version of taper-lock
hubs is not difficult to fabricate. You bore a taper in the pulley.
You turn a taper to match on a previously "flanged" rod. You cut it
off(or first do the following step with live tooling, or a toolpost
mounted drill/drill chuck). You drill holes for the tightening/
releasing screws. You tap the appropriate holes: 1/2 in the pulley,
1/2 in the flange. You slit the flanged piece. Deburr. Done! Pretty
quickly accomplished.
