I've got it on a 1 GB SCSI disk. An IDE should be fine, too.
I had real problems figuring out the partitions so that it would
install on less than 1 GB. Unless this would be a CNC only
system, with no software development done on the machine,
and you have another machine to compile EMC on, I would
suggest 1 GB minimum.

You'll also get to see my (horrible) shop. (Horrible because
of all the stuff piled everywhere!)
