Matt,
That is sad to hear. I must say I've heard it before too.
I don't know how they determine who gets a catalog and who doesn't. I do know
there must be some firm policy and it does NOT come down to how much you spend
with them.
I can visualize what their catalog printing costs are though. Working for a Mail
order company myself, I am well aware of the staff they would need to keep old
part numbers straight, New products added accurately and part number changes and
additions correct. Must be one heck of a system. Wonder if they give tours too ?
I have found them to be an excellent suppier for us. NO-ONE has been able to
match their precision that we buy from. They definitely know their business.
Everyone I had ever spoken to there gets the job done - pronto.
My experience has been anyone wanting a catalog just needs to be polite and
patient. I have found if you request one, you'll eventually get one. And then
one every time it is updated.
I know that anyone can order on line, with no minimum, no hassle and without
doubt overnight service.... At the shop, our purchasing agent doesn't bother
much with the CD catalog or the book itself. On-Line ordering is just as quick.
Break down and buy one of the old catalogs on e-bay. Put your request in for a
new one. It will show up.
