Ironically, the folks who do need the catalog are the newbies who
don't yet know what can be bought. After a couple years, usually
about the time that treasured yellow volume finally arrives, one
starts to have a bit of intuition as to what is available vs. what
desires are totally off-the-wall, and what the desired item would be
called if it did exist... this makes using the web interface alone
more practical.

Ie, browsing the catalog is an education in what money can buy.
