Looks like the A2 model is an absolute encoder which you probably
don't need and can't use with most of the software out there. If you
are indeed looking for incremental shaft encoders go back to the
US Digital site and look at the H1 or H3 models. They are much
more reasonably priced. I have used the E3 models mounted
to the back of my motors, and they work great.
