only 3000 lines...? your getting off eeeasy :-)

of course you will have to port the code over ,your on a new OS with diferent
system calls ,a diferent compiler and libraries etc..

chances are you would have to change some of the code if you had only switched
compilers under dos ,say from Borland to the MS or Watcom compilers ,thats
just how it goes with programing languages ,everyone has a slightly diferent
'flavor' just like porting G-code from one brand of machine control to another

you'll get used to the new environment soon enough just run a google search
on "porting from dos to linux" and keep at it :-)
