This is beginning to sound like a distribution difference. I'm running the
Caldera E-Desktop 2.4 Linux, and you're running some version of Red Hat. The
Linux's work just fine in either case, but some of the setups are totally
different, and some the same, some simpler and some....You get the picture.
There are numerous books out there if you didn't get a distribution with a setup
manual. As a beginner, you really should have spent the extra bucks for the
newbie setup book version. Even with that, it can take a little time to get
settled in. IIRC, Red Hat's full fledged server version , with book(s?) goes
for about $150-$160, but there are several lesser levels you can get, too, no
doubt with smaller books. It might pay you to get in touch with Red Hat, and
see what the book for your version is going for. Come to think of it, doesn't
Red Hat Offer a certain amount, (30 days or some such), of setting up support?
