Tell that to the young widow of a welder/mechanic where I used to
work.
He was welding on a conveyor belt outside. There was a puddle of
water beside the conveyor. To keep his welding lead out of the
water, he draped it over his shoulder. The lead had a worn spot in
it. His shoes were wet, and the bad spot in the welding lead touched
a gold chain on his neck. That's all it took to end his life.
From that day on, all welding machines in the factory were equipped
with a special "Shock-Stop" connection (a special ground fault
interrupter for welding machines).
Sad, but all too true.
