Wrong!

Voltage (E.M.F. {Electro Motive Force}) is, as was stated
earlier, the driving force behind electricity. Current (the killer) is the
result of that Voltage divided by the Resistance of the load (In this case,
You). The thicker you are the better yor chances are of surviving :-))

In the case of your Welder of 35 Volts, through your body
resistance: You will certainly feel it, but there simply isn't enough
Voltage to develop a killing current. An exception to this, of course, is
if you have a dicky ticker.

In the case of a colour T.V. The Voltage on the tube Anode is in
the region of 48,000 Volts, but the current capacity of the driver circuits
is very limited. You certainly know that you have had a belt, if you
venture into the back of one of these babies. What happens though, is that
the initial shock is likely to toss you, literally, across the room, and
out of further harms way. If you are unfortunate enough to get hung up in
the wires, your body resistance will likely shunt the voltage driver
down. I know at least two people, with high body resistance, who can
literally hang onto these things. Think of a Morris Minor in a head wind.

In the case of a Microwave oven. Voltage available at the
magnetron is in the region of 5000 Volts. This is delivered directly from
an auto transformer, connected to the mains supply. Driving voltage is
high enough to generate killing currents in most human bodies. Power supply
is backed up by the entire power grid system. If you don't have the right
tools, and you don't know what you're doing, don't EVER go into the back of
a Microwave oven. Even if they have been turned off, for some time, they
can be lethal. Shorting the capacitor with a screw driver is not
recommended, unless you want to wear a face full of disintegrating
screwdriver shards.

Electricity is no joke. It sneaks up on you at 186,000 miles /
second (300,000 Metres / second). Let's keep you all safe.
