stuck stepper

Hi all,

I am trying to test my latest set-up and found one of my e-bay steppers
is locked up.

NEMA34 single stack, and I have a tough time spinning it by hand.
It's one of those high tech manufacturers, ASTROSYN !
(yeah, I never heard of them before either)

1.7 V, 4.7 A and in series mode, my Gecko can get it to spin at about
100 to 200 er.... 0.1 to 0.2 hertz

Iwant to open it up and look at the bearings, but am not sure if I am
better off trashing it and getting a new one, or trying to fix this
one.

looking for recommendations.
