Generally, I have "never" blown a fuze nor a semiconductor of value, as I use
common sense (primarily the only kind I have, being
academically-challenged!). So far, I have used only TWO G210's (same as the
G201 as far as this point goes, I think), in an application-specific plotter
I built for a customer in Ohio.

Being basically a klutzy dolt, I had "tacked" stepper-wire-ends to the
terminals for a "try and see" run, and had stripped far more length of
insulation off the wire-ends than the space between these terminals to which
the motor was connected. Then, in my [deleted]ing around, I "bumped into",
thus cross-shorted two adjacent motor-wires (a "shorted winding"). This VERY
fortunately ONLY blew the 1.5 A. fuze I was using in the "motor DC line" from
the power-supply, though it WAS a "dead short" to the Gecko drive! Untoward
utterances deleted, I fixed the temporary connections, put in a new fuze, and
tried again, HOPING I hadn't blown anything! The G210 was OK! Whew! I was
very pleased by the "toughness" of the drive, but I guess an up-to- 7-amp
capability, with a current-set resistor for "1 amp load" installed, I might
expect that. But the "dead short" did have me worried until "second test"!
Whew!

I will be using more G210's in the future (assuming I get orders for more
simple PC-controlled application-specific toys)!
