This sounds like a "Pay me now Or pay me later" scenerio.

As a hobbist, and electronics technician I would (have) gladly paid
the extra $15 for the protection. Everyone ocassionally miswires, has
pinched wires, a plug come out... and would, in after thought, wish
he'd paid the small additional cost, for peace of mind if nothing
else. Believe me, the more things I wire up the more I'm glad the
items I'm connecting daily are protected. Then theirs always the fact
that the used motors that most hobbists, retrofitters... use are more
apt to fail than new motors are.

I wouldn't be a bit supprised that when the 201-IPs are introduced
that several people here announce their 201s for sale because their
upgrading.
