I wouldn't just say that without someone taking a look at the code.
It MIGHT not be such a stretch, as NIST has done some amazing and
varied things with EMC over the years. Remember EMC runs hexapods,
robots, a large aircraft inspection platform for the Air Force, etc. so
it is VERY flexible. The guys at NIST or somebody that has been
through the kinematics routines should have a much better idea.
I am aware this kinematics stuff exists, but I've never had the need
to delve deeply into it.

In other words, until somebody authoritatively says you are correct,
there's still hope!
